Sigma Tau Gamma Partners with Phired Up

National Headquarters - January 7, 2009

Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity announced today a new agreement with Phired Up Productions of Carmel, Indiana. Phired Up will provide marketing, staff training and consulting support to enhance the Fraternity’s expansion efforts.

Executive Vice President Bill Bernier announced that he signed a three year agreement with Phired Up President, Matthew G. Mattson. The agreement anticipates four professionally conducted campus expansions annually over three years, a total of twelve new chapters.

“Our staff evaluated our recent expansion projects and concluded that we needed to improve the quality and effectiveness of our efforts,” said Bernier. Phired Up was founded in 2002 as a marketing consultant serving the Greek movement. They quickly built a reputation for quality and success serving a number of both fraternity and sorority clients.

Phired Up began its business by providing recruitment training and coaching for individual fraternity and sorority chapters. Building on a track record of notable success, they recently began offering expansion support services to national fraternities.

With the Sigma Tau Gamma agreement, Phired Up moves to an unprecedented level of partnership with a national college fraternity. They will hire two new expansion consultants to their staff. Sigma Tau Gamma will expand its staff as well. The Fraternity will hire an additional consultant and reassign an existing consultant to expansion.

Campus expectations for staff support of fraternity expansion projects have dramatically changed. Direct on-campus professional staff support is now measured in months rather than weeks. Sigma Tau Gamma must rise to this level of service in order to remain competitive.

The Phired Up agreement also anticipates recruitment consulting support for existing chapters. Specific arrangements, including financial participation from the chapters being served, will be made on a chapter-by-chatpter basis.

Phired Up CEO, Josh Orendi, will attend the Earl A. Webb Academy of Principled Leaders at the Fraternity headquarters in Warrensburg, January 7-10, 2010. Fraternity COO Doug Haman is working with Orendi to arrange recruitment training seminars at major Sigma Tau Gamma events, including the 44th Grand Chapter in Cleveland, Ohio.

“I am confident,” said Haman, “that Phired Up can help any chapter that has a desire to grow its membership in both quality and quantity, thereby enhancing the brotherhood experience.”

Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity was founded on June 28, 1920. Its purpose is to pursue the highest ideals of manhood, brotherhood and citizenship as exemplified by six Principles: Value, Learning, Leadership, Excellence, Benefit and Integrity.
